Will my divorce be
valid?
Your divorce
will be valid and recognized everywhere in the world. Under a policy known as
“comity” countries recognize the laws of other countries.
Do I receive proof of my divorce?
Yes, you will receive your final decree of divorce as in any other court in the world.
What do I do with my divorce decree once I receive it?
Nothing. When or if you apply to remarry, or otherwise have to show proof that you are divorced, you may be asked to show the decree.
What if my spouse will not sign or consent or I do not know where he/she
is?
You can
still get your divorce. You do not need your spouses signature for a divorce in
Mexico or the Caribbean. You will not be able to obtain a divorce using the US
court divorce in Guam unless your spouse signs.
How much will a divorce
cost me?
Depends on
which divorce you choose. $995.00 for the Mexican divorce plus any extra services
you choose to order, $1,400. for the Caribbean divorce plus the cost of the
required travel and lodging if needed. $1,500 for the US court divorce in
Guam plus the
cost of the required travel and lodging.
How
quickly can I be divorced?
In as
little as one day, depending on which divorce you choose.

For the divorce in Mexico; 2-3 days with standard service and 1 day with expedited service (extra fee required).

For the Caribbean divorce; 1 day if both parties are signing and 21 days if only one once spouse is willing or able to sign.

For the US Court divorce in Guam; 7 days.
How soon will I have my divorce decree in hand?
Depending on which
divorce you choose.

For the divorce in Mexico; 2-4 weeks with standard service, 7-8 days with expedited service (extra fee required).

For the Caribbean divorce; 4-5 weeks with both parties signing, 5-6 weeks with only one party signing.

For the US Court divorce in Guam; approximately 3 weeks.
How soon can I remarry?
In most
cases you are free to remarry as soon as you have your decree in hand
depending on where you want to remarry (each state has its own waiting
period requirements).
What is
a one-party and a two-party divorce?
In a one-party
divorce (also called unilateral) only one party must sign. In a
two-party divorce (also called bilateral) both parties must sign
(mandatory for the US court divorce in Guam).
If I am choosing a one-party (unilateral) divorce how will my spouse be
notified?
Your
spouse will be notified in accordance with the law of the place from
which you obtain your divorce. For the Mexican court divorce
notification will be by posting a notice in the courthouse. For
Caribbean court divorce the notification will be by courier service.
Do I have to travel?
No travel is necessary for the Mexican court divorce. Travel is
required for the Caribbean court divorce and the US court divorce.
Do I
have to make hotel reservations?
Hotel reservations
are only required for the US court divorce and the Caribbean court
divorce. We can make those reservations for you or you can make them
yourself which ever you prefer.
Will I be met at the
airport?
Yes you will be met at the airport for the
Caribbean court divorce by our driver. You will not be met for the US
court divorce (Guam is English speaking and taxis are modern and readily
available). No travel is necessary for the Mexican divorce.
What documents will I need?
Depending on which
divorce you choose.

For the Mexican court divorce you will need the information sheet, the affidavit, and the power of attorney, all printable from our website.

For the Caribbean court divorce you will need; a passport, two photocopies of your social security card (and your spouses if he/she is signing), your drivers’ license (and your spouses if he/she is signing), your original marriage certificate or certified copy, the mandate form and information sheet.

For the US court divorce you will need: a passport, the information sheet, and the waiver petition.
What about a written agreement for property settlement, support and/or custody?
For each of our divorces the court will incorporate by reference any written
agreement you have into your decree. You do not have to supply the agreement.
Just advise when and where it was signed. If there is no agreement these issues
must be resolved where the property is located or where the children are
residing.
How do I pay you?
